Mobile Lithotripter

Patient convenience and access to state-of-the-art kidney stone care and treatment are primary objectives of the Kidney Stone Center of the Rocky Mountains . In January 2002, we began providing mobile lithotripsy to the Colorado Springs area and expanded to include the northern front range area in November 2002. Our member physicians are now providing mobile lithotripsy on a weekly basis at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs and Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

We utilize multiple machine technology. Our treating panel will occasionally recommend that the best treatment for the patient will be on the fixed site HM3 lithotripter in Denver . This decision is based on the stone size, stone hardness, and the patient’s body characteristics. It will be recommended that these patients not be treated on the mobile machine but come to Denver for the treatment most likely to be successful.
